„Old And Rare,“ the 20th Charity Whisky Tasting of Armond Dishers WhiskyNews
The 20th charity whisky tasting of Armond Dishers WhiskyNews took place on 13th May at Hotel Huerner in Ansbach, Schlossstraße 7 under the motto „Old and Rare“.
34 participants enjoyed a wonderful evening with exquisite whiskies, hosted by whisky icon Peter Augstein and yours truly. The proceeds were an incredible 3600 euros.
Half of the proceeds received Foerderverein Luetzelsoon e.V. and the other half Chanzo Kenya.
We tasted these whiskies:
Auchentoshan 1984/2004 20YO 56,6%, Signatory Vintage, 289 bottles only, donated by Rudi Gmoehling
Highland Park 2002/2022 20YO 56,9%, Berry Bros. & Rudd, „Auld Acquaintance Reserve“, 686 bottles only, donated by Andreas Hailer, Whiskykeller
Longrow 1989/2002 13YO Sherry Wood 53,2%, J. & A. Mitchell Co., „Wood Expressions“, donated by Maggie Miller, Scotch Single Malt Circle
Peat‘s Beast 25YO 52,2%, Fox Fitzgerald, donated by Petra Doerschmann and Peter Dorscht
Laphroaig 25YO, an owner’s bottling donated by a philanthropist
Benromach 21YO 43% is a donation from Andrea Caminneci von Schlumberger
Old Rhosdhu 1993/2022 29YO 51,5%, Villa Konthor 15th Anniversary Bottling, 60 bottles only, which I contributed to the tasting.
In the remaining bottles were one dram each, if the bottling plants meant well even two. The most expensive residual dram of the evening was the Highland Park, which went for 66 euros.

Dingle Fourth Small Batch Release 46,5%, donated by Josefine Koeßler-Preischl, Gasthof Stern in Greding
2x Sächsischer Festival Whisky 2014 53%, aus der Meissener Spezialitaetenbrennerei, 548 bottles only, donated by Siegbert Hennig
12 Whisky jams from the renowned Marmeladenmachers Franz, which alone brought auction proceeds of 125 euros.
Participants were also treated to some merchandise gimmicks from Beam Suntory, as well as a Glencairn glass donated by Hart Brothers Brand Ambassador Mark Abram.
